Adulting is hard.
Resolutions are hard.
Making decisions is hard.
In order for you to get success at the follow-through of any resolution is to bear this in mind. You have to remember that the goal is the changed behavior, not merely the announcement of it!
Life is a dynamic. It is not in the nature of life to be easy: that would make it stagnant. Motivational speaker Lisa Nichols says it like this, “The reason why a lot of people won’t become who they want is because they’re too attached to who they’ve been.” The longer you move about in the world, the more you will recognize this. Once you see it, it can never be unseen.
Failing, failure are all a part of change. They are parts of growth, changing and developing into the person you desire to be. Remember that you are changing, and be tender with yourself as you change. Be forgiving with yourself when you mess up or fall short. Failure is part of the process. Resolutions are window to/into the self. Don’t be afraid of what you see–just open the window.
