August Is For Activism: Aunt Karen

I came across Aunt Karen on TikTok at least 4 months ago. At first, I thought it was a parody account—until I started following her, paying attention to the anti-racism work she is committed to.

Mom, warrior, Guardian of the Petty Realm, her work is needed and necessary! In this instant age, I am glad that she exists and she lets nothing slide!

One of the reasons I am highlighting her this month is because of what happened to her recently. After confronting a racist White woman on her discriminatory employee practices, her husband threatened her—saying he would put her in the ground!

You know he tried to walk that back, and his wife said she wasn’t racist—yeah, okay. Sure.

But, this is what activists face! Especially, Black female activists! Consider following the good work of Aunt Karen and supporting all she does to make the world a better place.

Aunt Karen is a Torch!
