I have been writing since I was 8, and wanted to be a journalist when I was 13, 14 years old. I wrote for school newspapers, yearbook staff, was always pegged to the sage of a school play, or holiday assembly.

I always had a pen.

With the invention of this internet, I didn’t even know what a ‘blog’ was until I started following Luvvie Ajayi Jones’s blog! But, I never thought to write down these random thoughts in down in any other form aside from a journal, diary or margin of a notebook. It was the marvelous Winnie Caldwell (yeah! THAT Winnie! SN: Support Books & Bros!) and $25 blogging workshop. With her mentoring and pushing me, this platform burst into being!

For that reason, for that cause, the first person that I want to thank on this celebratory journey is Winnie Caldwell, the mother of Sidney Keys III, co-founder of Books N Bros.

Thank you, Winnie.

Thank you.
