THE BIG DAY IS HERE!
I thank you for your love, support, comments, sharing, and following me on this ride! Thank you to all the women on my staff whom are now on their own journeys to have helped me craft this space as oasis and lighthouse.
Thank you, Starr. Thank you, Rebecca. Thank you, Meisha. Thank you, Jayida. I couldn’t have done this without you.
Thank you to all of you that follow this space, that have been here from day one! Thank you to the people that share this space, told people about this space, and even stumbled upon it! I thank you.
Thank you to the Torches of the international space that come here and learn, laugh, and embrace the humanity in Blackness without death having to prove it.
Thank you to the mini-Torches that find joy in their Blackness, value in their culture, and are reminded that all they are worthy, beautiful, spectacular, and valuable!
Thank you to the elders whom have found this page, push me forward, and remind me with a look or a quote to, “Say something about this.” Thank you, my Lighthouses.
Thank you to the foremother, the patron saint of this space, Ms. Ida Bell Wells Barnett. She is my reminder that light is always needed to show truth, no matter where it is hidden. Also, one has to be brave enough to bare the heat that comes with that exposure, and be audacious to respond to criticism in the same matter that it comes–aka if they bring you matches, always give smoke.
HERE IS TO YEAR 6! YAAAAAAAAAAAASSS!
WE MADE IT!!!!
